We will dearly miss ABC’s Scandal, one of the most addictive television drama series, over the next few months. During season 2 finale, viewers were hit with a blow to the chest once Rowan (head of B-613) was revealed as Olivia Pope’s father.

Rowan Pope is Jake Ballard’s commanding officer in B-613, a covert operation, possibly a rogue or unsanctioned branch of the CIA.
He was the man who started the B613 program; he was known as “Command” to Charlie and Huck and was their boss before Charlie faked Huck’s death and Charlie himself eventually deserted the program.
His plan is to keep Olivia Pope & Fitz Grant apart from each other. He sent Jake Ballard to gain Olivia’s trust and spark a relationship with her; he also instructed Jake to sleep with her. He wants Cyrus Beene to show the tape of Jake and Olivia making love to Fitz in order to keep Fitz away from Olivia. His intentions and true identity are unknown until his Olivia walks out of her apartment building into a media circus questioning her about being Fitz’s mistress; his men pull her into a limousine where he awaits; Olivia responds… “Dad”!
Isn’t it ironic how Olivia’s father tossed Huck in a hole for months and took away his family, then Olivia comes along to save him. Is this why Huck gets a pass from the B-613? Of course B-613 knows that Huck is still alive and working with Olivia. Only in season 3, we will learn the truth behind Huck’s freedom pass from B-613.
We will learn more about Rowan Pope’s past family connections with Olivia. Did Rowan have to leave his family behind, just like Huck, for his family safety?

Ok, we have been so bogged down with stories of Olivia Pope and her team , we have forgotten the obvious. Who is Olivia and how did she become this white hat wearing fixer. Well we know who her dad is. So surely her mom has to be this high profile power , deal making and well respected policitical titian. We are on the edge of our seats.
I need to think about Olivia’s mom role in this. I don’t think she has seen him in a long time. I love the way this show is going.
